I once thought this was the way to go but to me if you are going to put the effort in making one of these buy a good set of blades and a hub. They can be found on the web for about $100. That way you will get the most out of it 8inch pcv is hard to find and will hurt you in more ways than 1

Pvc is not a good thing to use in time those blades will shatter and fly off

have a solanoid clickover when full, divert to an emersion heater for free hot water
you can in the uk. have the energy supplier fit a reversable meter, then run the excess back to the grid. Sell it back at night, re-use in day. If you have a good setup, have your light circuit connected to your renewables.

To add to nitnoids critique, weigh the blades so that they’re the same weight… Otherwise, I wouldn’t play outside on a windy day…
Just one comment about cutting and sanding the PVC. The PVC will heat up and emit gases. A respirator would be recommended.
that’s inconvenient. i wish someone would make a video showing how to hook up a turbine to your homes electricity supply so you could get that spinning thing going backwards.
Its a good idea, but Im going to take my project to a new level. Im going to use a solar panel to spin the blades on the turbine when there is no wind..
No you need a Battery.
Why? The wind is not always blowing when you need it. The inverter may need more power then the wind turbine can supply (then you woul get a brown out).
Also several turbines could charge one to or more batteries. Your inverter could then give you many hours of “free” Power.
