  1. Was going to buy one of these at Home Depot after my car was broken into in my driveway. A great idea poorly executed. There were three on the shelf — all of them looked as if they’d been returned. When I took one out I could see why — the material is VERY cheap and flimsy. Immediately put it back on the shelf and am now looking at having a REAL security light wired into the house. More expensive – yes. Better, longer lasting and more reliably — oh yeah. Only buy this if you want a short-term, cheap, light-duty fixture.

  2. Picked of of these up at Home Depot. About the brightness of a sickly match (if even that much). Not recommended.

  3. It works … puts out more light than I expected and it was easy to install. Looks nice on the side of the house. Over time the light dims, especially by morning.

  4. I wanted something to light up the alleyway between my house and my neighbors’, and really didn’t want to pay an electrician to run wires to the back two corners of my home. So I bought two of these as it was a cheaper alternative.

The first thing I noticed upon taking the light out of the box was the disappointingly cheap grade of plastic it’s constructed with. It really does feel rinky-dinky, and I’m concerned with how long this thing is going to last, being exposed to the elements.

The light works fine, however, as does the motion detector. I have the sensitivity set midway, and the light comes on as soon as I step in between mine and my neighbor’s home. That’s all I wanted really. This light is about the same brightness as an LED flashlight. It will NOT light up the same brightness as a light that is hardwired into the home, but it will definitely get someone’s attention if they’re trying to sneak around the back of my house.

For what I’m using it for, it’s fine.

  5. the batteries are Dead in the box… Must be charged, manual states 2days of sun before switching on…

i put Regular AA batteries in the thing to test and Boom, as bright or Brighter than a 150watt bulb…

my neighbor comes out wondering, where i picked up an H.I.D. shed light…

Wholly poop, i am buying another one, after i type this…
