  2. Very professional apparatus–it will make worm composting much easier and more hands off.

Note: It didn’t come with the coir brick (as the instructions say it was supposed to), but I can get that at a local gardening store.

  3. Be wary of the temperature guidelines, and if you think it’s really okay to keep this IN YOUR KITCHEN, think again! I live in Florida and kept the worm factory on a shaded screened porch, but it was still hot enough to attract flies and breed maggots. We moved it to our back yard in a shady area, where it became a roach hotel. Maybe we’ll try again in the fall when it’s cool, but I think it’s best to stick to traditional composting in warmer climes. . .

  4. In 3 weeks, the worms have really demonstrated their appreciation of their new home. They are athletic – zooming around all over, eating well, and reproducing. It’s convenient [except the top is drippy if you need to put it down somewhere] and is just what I was expecting. A word of caution though – the coir brick expands A LOT with water. Make sure you have a large container.

  5. I have had mine for about 3 years now and it works great. The directions that came with it eventually ended up in the composter. I suggest reading up on worm composting to get a better idea on how to use it. I put most of my food waste in it. I had to purchase a few more trays so that it would last the winter without emptying the trays. The worms don’t like the cold. I highly recomend this. The great thing about this is that it so simple to maintain. I have left mine alone for a few months and in the spring there is always enough worms to start over. My gardens just love this stuff.
